Pulling some old threads together…. Part 3 – Tiny fingers

Tiny Fingers

Tiny fingers, work so nimble,
Dainty stitches, you have sewn
Tiny fingers, work that thimble
Work those fingers to the bone

Times are hard and getting harder
Minding pennies, Saving po–unds
Help us, help us, tiny fingers
Help to keep our prices down

Chorus

Button up my winter jacket
Laying covers on my bed
Wonder if you make enough to eat
Wonder where you lay your head

Chorus

My children, home from school now
Laughing, running, out to play
Just as well you’re out of sight and mind
You’re so very far away

Chorus

Once they sang about the weavers
Of the work that they would do
Tiny fingers, do you feel like singing
When your working day is through?
